No matter if you’re a professional musician or a hobbyist, your musical instrument is welcome on board and will be well taken care of. Its weight and size will determine how you can bring your musical instrument on board with you.
How do I transport musical instruments?
You can bring your musical instrument with you in the cabin, depending on its size and weight. Furthermore, you can also take it with you as additional baggage and check it in.
Bring your instrument as carry-on baggage
You can bring small musical instruments (e.g., violin, flute, etc.) as carry-on baggage if they fall within your free hand baggage allowance. Make sure your instrument can be stowed away in the overhead bin or underneath the seat in front of you.
Book an extra seat for your instrument
Instruments of medium size (e.g., guitar) can be transported on board on the seat next to you if they are too large to be stowed away in the overhead bin or underneath the seat in front of you.
Check in your musical equipment
Large instruments (e.g., contrabass) can only be transported in the hold.
How do I book the transportation of musical instruments?
Contact our Service Centre before your booking if you wish to travel with your instrument on the seat next to you. They will also provide more information if you would need to transport your instrument in the hold.
No need to contact us for smaller instruments that fall within your free hand baggage allowance. Just make sure they comply with the hand baggage limits.
