Check-in options for travel from and to Africa
There are several ways to check in for your flight. For passengers travelling to and from Africa, we have additional check-in options to make your journey even easier.
If you choose to check in online, please be aware that when flying out of Africa, you must pass by the check-in desk to pick up your final boarding pass.
Early check-in in Paris for flights to Africa
- If travelling to Africa from Paris Charles De Gaulle, drop off your baggage at the airport the evening before your flight
- Get an additional 9kg of checked baggage for free!
- Go to the Brussels Airlines desk in Terminal 1 area 5, between 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
- Check in hand baggage (8 kg max.) free of charge during pre-check-in
Our colleagues will take care of all the arrangements and will send your baggage to Brussels Airport that same night.
Please note:
- All passengers need to be physically present (not mandatory for minors) and in possession of all required travel documents
- Baggage cannot be checked in partially, and needs to be checked in all at once
- For security reasons, accompanying persons are not allowed to enter the check-in area
- We cannot accept checked baggage that is wrapped by yourself or by any other provider not officially recognized by Paris CDG Airport
Exclusive check-in service in Africa
- To avoid queues at the airport, check-in your baggage free of charge at our city office
- If flying from Kinshasa, Kigali or Monrovia, drop off your baggage in the city office on the day of your flight
- Our staff will do the check-in for you so that you don’t have to worry about your baggage at the airport
- Always verify the exact opening hours of our city check-in
Good to know
Check-in desks
You can simply hand over your baggage to our staff at a check-in counter. They will prepare the baggage tag and send it to the airport’s baggage handlers.
Baggage drop-off units
If you’re already checked in and simply need to drop off baggage, you can use our self-service baggage drop-off units. Simply scan your boarding pass and follow the instructions. It should only take a few minutes. (Available at London Heathrow, Geneva and Copenhagen.)
Even if you’re travelling with carry-on baggage only, you still need to check in for your flight.
If you've checked in online and are flying to Africa, you can directly proceed to your departure gate. When flying out of Africa, you must pass by the check-in desk at the airport to pick up your final boarding pass.
Make sure that your carry-on baggage is within the size and weight limits, doesn't contain any dangerous goods and complies with regulations regarding gels and liquids.
