As a Belgian ambassador, we are pleased to offer you a taste of Belgium’s internationally acclaimed cuisine in Business Class. A host of Michelin-starred Belgian chefs will create special dishes using local regional produce to be served on board our long-haul flights out of Brussels.
Arabelle Meirlaen
In 2025 we indulge our Business Class passengers on their way to North America and sub-Saharan Africa with the culinary creations of Michelin Star Chef Arabelle Meirlaen.
Arabelle Meirlaen began her culinary career in January 1999 at the ‘Grand Place’ of Huy in the small restaurant ‘Li Cwerneu’. In September 2013, with her partner Pierre Thirifays, she moved the restaurant to their bright house in Marchin in the province of Liège, where her vegetable garden is located. Chef Meirlaen - who is the first woman to be voted Chef of the Year 2014 by Gault&Millau - creates beautiful, crisp, feminine cuisine featuring sumptuous dishes concocted with the seasons in mind.
"My philosophy is rooted in creating wholesome and healthy food. The garden is my endless source of inspiration, where nature’s beauty shapes my vision. To me, cooking mirrors life itself: vibrant, flavorful, textured, and infused with love and deep emotion. It’s my heartfelt wish that every Brussels Airlines guest experiences that as well. Becoming part of the airline’s prestigious tradition of Star Chefs isn’t just an honor - it’s the fulfillment of a personal dream. I’m thrilled to share this journey and my passion with travelers from around the world."

The wines accompanying the new Business Class menu were selected by Master of Wine Jan De Clercq, while beersommelier Sofie Vanrafelghem carefully selected our Belgian beers. The menu will evolve every three months to make the most of seasonal produce.
