Thanks to the merger with ITA Airways, you will soon have a much greater choice of travel options. Codesharing will create more transfer connections within the network. This means greater flexibility in travel planning and implementation for your future trips, as well as coordinated flight schedules with optimized travel times. The five-star hub in Rome Fiumicino will become the Lufthansa Group’s sixth and southernmost hub.

The full implementation of ITA Airways into the Lufthansa Group is taking place gradually and will include key measures such as its planned inclusion in the global airline alliance, Star Alliance.

Loyalty programs

From February 3, 2025, Miles & More members can earn and redeem miles on flights with ITA Airways. Members of ITA Airways loyalty program, Volare, can earn and redeem miles on flights with Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines. Lounges

From summer 2025, the lounge networks of the Lufthansa Group and ITA Airways will be harmonized. This will give premium customers and loyalty-program members reciprocal access to a wider lounge network. 

Codeshare partnership

From summer 2025, codeshare flights between ITA Airways and the Lufthansa Group airlines will be enabled on over 100 routes across Europe, delivering significantly higher connectivity and customer choice. Further expansions to codeshares, including on intercontinental routes, will be announced later in the year.
