The capital of Spain is bursting with life, has a large number of sights and a formidable nightlife.
It is impossible to be bored in Madrid. There is an abundance of shopping streets, museums, monuments, squares and parks. Let’s start with the squares, the Plaza Mayor in particular. It is a magnificent square from the early seventeenth century and is a main attraction. You should also see the Plaza de Canalejas, which is the smallest round square in Madrid. One of the most interesting buildings is the Palacio Real, or Royal Palace, which is built in the classical and baroque styles.
Art lovers must certainly visit the Prado, where you can admire works by great Spanish artists such as Goya, El Greco and Ribera. The building on its own is a pleasure to look at.
The ideal place for a rest is the magnificent Parque del Retiro, which is the most beautiful park in Madrid.
