With its vast swamps, mountainous regions, innumerable rivers, hot savannahs and hilly coastline, Sierra Leone is certainly worth a visit. Sierra Leone, much of whose border is on the Atlantic, is situated between Guinea and Liberia. It has a population of about 5 million. Despite the civil war, Sierra Leone is a beautiful country with a pleasant climate.
Freetown still shows signs of its history as a point of return for liberated slaves. The capital of Sierra Leone therefore has much to appeal to those interested in history.
